How places work on a Pro subscription
A Pro subscription includes six places shared across all its workspaces. Learn what uses a place, who can hand out workspaces, and how to add more.

A place is one person’s seat on a subscription. Pro includes 6 places: the owner plus five invitees. The price is flat for the workspace, not per person.
The rules
- The pool is shared by the whole subscription. If you give someone a workspace of their own, it is covered by your Pro subscription and its people use places from the same six. The team can never grow past the pool.
- A person uses one place, however many of the subscription’s workspaces they belong to. Someone who is in your workspace and also owns a workspace of their own still counts once.
- Pending invitations reserve places. A place is taken from the moment you invite someone, and freed if the invitation is cancelled.
- On Pro, only the owner of the paying workspace can give someone a workspace of their own. Administrators, and people whose own workspace is included in someone else’s subscription, can only invite collaborators into the workspace they manage. On Enterprise, owners and administrators can all give people workspaces of their own, because every user is billed.
- Suspended members do not use a place, and restoring one needs a free place.
Included workspaces
A workspace created through the Own workspace invitation shows “Pro access is included by” the paying workspace on its Plans & billing page. Its owner is not charged separately, and the paying workspace’s owner manages the subscription, including extra users.
Need more than six?
The owner or an administrator of the paying workspace can add extra users for a per-user price. The price is on the pricing page. See Add or remove extra users. For a large organization, Enterprise has no user limit.
Basic
Basic includes one user, the owner. To add teammates, upgrade to Pro; own-workspace invitations also need Pro.
Note
Owners and administrators on Pro can see the place count under Settings, then Billing, in the Users card, which reads “n of N places in use”.
